Cedar Stars Rush Houston/KSA14 Financial Aid & Scholarship Fund
Application Overview
The Cedar Stars Rush Houston/KSA14 Financial Aid and Scholarship Fund aims to ensure access to competitive club soccer for talented, committed players who may not otherwise afford it. The fund also aids families during temporary financial hardships.
Financial Aid Awarding
Awards are primarily based on need and soccer aptitude. Aid availability varies each season due to fund limitations and is generally limited to true financial hardship situations. Each request must be approved by the Financial Aid Committee and applicants will receive written notification regarding their application status. All information provided will be kept confidential.
Application Process
Parents or guardians must complete the Financial Aid Application before aid can be awarded. The Financial Aid Committee may deny applications if required paperwork is not provided by the requested date, or if there is insufficient need. Applicants are generally expected to pay reduced Player Fees on the standard payment schedule, unless otherwise approved.
Expectations & Restrictions
Aid covers tuition only and excludes uniforms, camps, travel costs, or additional event fees. Recipients are expected to adhere to the club's policies regarding behavior, conduct, and attendance. Failure to comply may result in immediate withdrawal of the scholarship.
Applications are valid for one soccer year (August 1st - July 31st) and must be submitted annually. All applications and required paperwork are due by August 1st of each year.
Steps to Apply
Accept an offer to join Cedar Stars Rush Houston/KSA14 team and complete the Application for Financial Aid form.
Register online.
Email a cover letter and supporting documents explaining need or hardship, along with the last two years' federal and state income tax returns for all adults contributing to the player's care to info@cedarstarsrushhouston.com.
The Committee will review all applications in a closed session, establish deadlines, keep applications confidential, review timely submissions, and may award full or partial aid or reject applications. Applicants will be notified by the Director of Finance and Administration.
Please note that any awarded financial aid covers only tuition and/or select fees. It does not cover uniforms, equipment, tournament, travel, coaches’ expenses, or other team or individual costs.
